Where has the time gone?

Suzie and Joey are finished with school for the year! Joey has completed 1st grade!! Suzie finished Kindergarten!! However, we decided that it would be in the best interest for Suzie to repeat Kindergarten next year. It was a tough decision but since she has a summer birthday we felt she needed that extra year to grow up a bit.

Swim team is in full swing now! We have practice every morning at 7 am and swim meets Monday nights!

Jeff and I celebrated our 10th anniversary! Hopefully we will plan a trip in the fall!

It's not my fault!!

Lately Suzie has been having issues about 'forgetting' to do things. I remind her multiple times and she claims that she keeps forgetting. So, this morning I am once again on her for not doing something and she looked at me with her sweet blue eyes and says "It's not my fault I keep forgetting, God made me this way!!" How can you argue with that?

Where has the time gone?

WOW! I can't believe it's been almost two weeks since I've last posted!! Well, we had a lot going on during the last two weeks. Suzie lost her first tooth!! The picture was taken at Swim team practice.

Joey had his last baseball game! He is a GREAT catcher!!

Elizabeth is finished with preschool until next year!! And I've started training for my first triathlon! I think I'm nuts! I've never swam and I haven't been on a bike since I was 8!! The race isn't until October so I've got some time!

Other than that we are gearing up for summer!

CRAZINESS

I feel like I can't keep up!! Swim team practice started this week for Joey and Suzie. Well, Suzie started this week Joey got a middle ear infection Monday so he's out of the water for a week. Let me tell you what a pain it is to take your kids to the doctor during this crazy Swine Flu. I spent most of my Monday at the Dr.s then getting prescriptions filled.

There is a few weeks of overlap between baseball and swim team and I think I'm going to loose my mind!! So, this week they have swim team practice everyday on top of baseball on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday!! Right now I'm questioning why we do sports!! I'm so looking forward to the summer but I'm sure by August I will be ready for school to start.

Elizabeth's birthday party

We celebrated Elizabeth's birthday at Build A Bear!! A good time was had by all!! Today we are celebrating her birthday, daddy's birthday and Uncle Misha's birthday!!:) One big party!!

Elizabeth is 3!!

My sweet baby is 3 today! I don't know where the years have gone! She is a sweet, funny little girl! She's very quiet and shy until you get to know her! However, when she does get to know you she never is quiet!! She never sleeps cause she's afraid she's going to miss the action! Her favorite things are her baby dolls!! Little Elizabeth is definately all girl!

Resurrection!!

I know I haven't blogged in awhile! To be honest I got really busy and lazy! No on usually reads it however, I stumbled upon it last night and I read through it. I enjoyed reading and remembering what we were going through. So, I decided to start the blog back up again not for anybody but myself! The kids are growing up so fast and it's amazing how much you forget things! So, I want these moments written down!

So, what has happened in the last year and half? Well, Joey is now 7 and he is such a big kid! He's so sweet and thoughtful. He's still doing baseball and he's improved a lot (still no future in it though). Suzie is 5 and still tiny but beautiful. Her face is like a porcelain doll. She too is very sweet however, you do need to watch out for her;) Elizabeth is going to be 3 (tomorrow in fact)! I'm sadden to see her grow up so fast. Partly cause she's my last! She is the funny one of the group. Like her sister she is not a good sleeper!

Jeff's company has moved to Sugar Land and he now works less than 10 minutes from home. It's been nice having him so close. As for me I stay busy with the kids and working out!!:) Oh yeah, we now have a cat (never though that would happen). Jeff found her as a stray outside and fell in love with her however, she's more like a dog. She enjoys chase and belly rubs!! Her name is QT pie!!

My goal for this blog is to update it at least once a week:) We'll see how it goes; enjoy the ride...

Disney 2008!

We just got back from Disney! We had a FABULOUS time but we are exhausted now. I will post more about our trip.....

No TV Tuesday!!

Yesterday our Pastor challenged us all to have a "No TV Tuesday". This includes TV's, IPODS, computers, (Jeff's blackberry; except at work) ect. Anything that takes your attention away from the family. So, we will be implementing this tomorrow!! The TV won't be a problem for me however, the computer will!! This will definitely be a challenge! Jeff and I always watch TV after the kids go to bed but we got some board games and some books. Who knows maybe we will actually have fun!!

I'm a MARATHONER

I still can't believe that I finished! Especially after my fall 2 weeks ago I didn't think I was going to finish. It's all mental!! I finished in 4hours and 49 minutes. Not bad for my first time; not the time I wanted but I'll take it:) I can barely move I'm so sore!! My ankle seemed to of held up it's no worse than before the race. Now I just need it to get better for the Austin marathon:) I'm only doing the half on that one.

Back in the Game

All week I've been seeing an Athletic Trainer for my ankle. We've been icing my foot in a bucket of water for 15 minutes (which is extremely painful) followed by her massaging the fluid out of my ankle. I wouldn't really call it massaging as much as torturing. The first time she did it I thought I was going to come out of my skin it hurt so bad. I'd rather of gone through child birth then do it again!! However, I showed up the next day cause I really want to run on Sunday. It got better as the week went on. I am a go for the marathon. I'm still black and blue but I can run on it.

Now all week I've been worried about my ankle that I really haven't thought about the marathon and now it's hitting me!! I will be running 26.2 miles in less than 3 days!!!!

Some times I wonder about myself....

The last few weeks I kept telling myself and everyone that Joey started back to school after the Christmas break on January 7th. So, this morning I woke everyone up got them dressed and fed. As we were to walk out the door Joey asked me what they were serving for lunch so I checked the menu. Lo and behold there is no lunch schedule for this day cause there is no school!! He doesn't start back until tomorrow!! I feel like such an idiot!! So, I told Joey there is no school and for him to take off his uniform. He was very excited.

Now of course this messes up my plans for the day. I was suppose to go see an athletic trainer for my ankle (I'm still hoping to run the marathon). So, I guess now I'll have to wrangle all three of them today:)

sick to my stomach

Yesterday evening we were out with the family and being the graceful person that I am I slipped and fell!! My ankle is really swollen and I can't walk! I immediately started to cry when I fell cause I realized that all my early mornings and hard work for the last 6 months will be for nothing!! I don't know if I will be able to do the marathon which is in 12 days:( I'm going to stay off my feet for the next week and half and pray that it gets better. But normally when I've done this in the past it takes up to 6 weeks to cure a sprained ankle:(

Merry Christmas!! (only 1 day late)

The spirit of Christmas

In our house all month we've been talking about the true meaning of Christmas. It's not about how many toys and gifts you are going to get. It's about giving. Well, this morning Joey brought tears to my eyes.

I woke up and went in the kitchen to find Joey dressed and eating breakfast. He had his wallet on his lap and he told me he was ready to go shopping!! He had told me he was up all night trying to think of the perfect gift for his sisters. He knew Elizabeth liked dolls so he wanted to go the Dollar Store and pick one out. For Suzie he wanted to get her a Chia pet cause when she saw the commercial she had said she wanted one. When we got to the store to buy the Chia pet it was going to use up all his money so I asked him if he was sure he wanted to get it for Suzie. He said "Yes, I know it's all my money but I know Suzie wanted a Chia pet and it will make her happy".

I guess sometimes the things we try to teach them they do learn!! I was so proud of Joey!!
